Citi's India division has appointed Ankur Khurana as the head of its commercial banking unit. According to Jin10, the Wall Street bank aims to enhance its services for India's rapidly expanding mid-sized enterprises. Khurana brings over two decades of banking experience, having previously served as the co-head of coverage for India and South Asia at Standard Chartered Bank. The position had been vacant since July of the previous year when veteran banker Bhanu Vohra left to join the Indian branch of global consultancy BDO.
India is witnessing a surge in transaction activities, with significant growth in equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. As Indian companies continue to expand and engage in overseas acquisitions, the mid-market sector presents extensive opportunities.
