The UK government has decided to abandon its plan to postpone local council elections in 30 areas of England, according to a letter shared by Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party. According to Jin10, Local Government Minister Steve Reed made the decision to retract the delay following recent legal advice. This marks a victory for the Reform UK party and Farage, who had previously taken legal action against the government to prevent the postponement. Originally scheduled for May, the elections will proceed as planned. The government will now seek to reach an agreement with the Reform UK party to conclude the case and has agreed to cover the plaintiff's legal costs. Farage expressed his triumph on social media platform X, stating, "We took the Labour government to court and won. UK Prime Minister Starmer colluded with the Conservatives to try to prevent 4.6 million people from voting on May 7. Only the Reform UK party is fighting for democracy."
