Oil futures experienced a slight decline following U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to provide fiscal and naval support to protect shipping in the Persian Gulf. According to Jin10, concerns over prolonged trade disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have eased. Ritterbusch and Associates noted in a report that Trump's plan to ensure tanker safety and provide escorts seems reasonable, but bureaucratic, financial, and legal issues may slow its implementation. The firm added that the market still needs evidence of reduced military activity or diminished Iranian attacks, stating that the longer the conflict persists, the slower the eventual price decline will be.
