Earthquake Strikes Off Eastern Coast of Iwate Prefecture, Japan

A magnitude 6 earthquake occurred off the eastern coast of Iwate Prefecture, Japan. According to RTHK, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported that the earthquake took place at around 10 p.m. local time, with a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. The agency indicated that the earthquake is not expected to trigger a tsunami.
