India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has initiated the 'Blockchain India Challenge' to promote blockchain-based digital governance solutions. According to Foresight News, the challenge aims to develop permissioned blockchain solutions with a focus on regulatory control and security, including trust, auditability, and tamper-proof records, for government applications.
As part of the challenge, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) will collaborate with government departments to select startups. These startups will receive phased funding to develop ten impactful blockchain-based applications across ten different categories, serving various government sectors.
