Russia Warns Japan Against Military Cooperation with Ukraine

Russia's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, stated on March 25 that Japan's increasing military cooperation with Ukraine could further diminish the prospects for a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. According to Jin10, Zakharova commented on reports from Japanese media suggesting that the Japanese government is considering purchasing drones manufactured in Ukraine. She noted that such reports indicate Japan's deeper involvement in military cooperation with Ukraine, especially as Ukrainian authorities have openly expressed a desire to exchange drones for other weapons. Zakharova reiterated Russia's warning, stating that any attempt by Japanese leadership to provide lethal weapons and military equipment to Ukraine would be viewed by Russia as a hostile act, prompting severe retaliatory measures.
