On March 31, the National Energy Administration of China held a monthly meeting to discuss the development and construction of renewable energy power for March. According to Jin10, the meeting highlighted the importance of several key tasks for the year, marking the beginning of the 'Fifteenth Five-Year Plan.'
Firstly, the administration stressed the need to continue efforts in expanding investment in renewable energy. Secondly, it emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in the consumption of new energy. Local energy authorities are urged to balance external and local new energy development, strengthen the fulfillment of long-term power purchase agreements, and stabilize expectations for new energy consumption. Power grid companies are encouraged to increase grid investment and optimize dispatch management to enhance new energy consumption capacity. Power generation companies are advised to make rational judgments and plan project layouts reasonably.
Thirdly, the administration called for the promotion of new models and business formats tailored to local conditions. Local energy authorities should explore new models such as direct green electricity connections and zero-carbon parks, expanding the non-electric consumption space for new energy.
Lastly, the administration highlighted the need for both internal and external improvements to enhance the market competitiveness of new energy companies. It noted that comprehensive participation in market transactions by new energy companies is an inevitable trend.
