Binance co-founder Yi He said the company will not pursue mass layoffs or cost-cutting in the manner of most technology firms, instead aiming to use artificial intelligence to drive a tenfold improvement in employee productivity and expand organizational output and innovation. Speaking at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2026, Yi raised Binance's user target from 1 billion to 3 billion — citing the company's current 300 million user base — and said reaching that scale would mean Binance functions as global financial infrastructure rather than solely as an exchange. Yi also said AI has progressed beyond a high-capability but structurally limited tool, and is now entering everyday life through agentic capabilities, with software development as the most visible initial application.
