Kalshi Penalizes Political Candidates for Betting on Elections

Kalshi has imposed a $6,300 fine on Mark Moran and banned three political candidates from participating in its platform for five years due to their involvement in betting on their own elections. According to NS3.AI, Matt Klein and Ezekiel Enriquez have also agreed to settlements of $540 and $784, respectively. Kalshi stated that Moran faced a more severe penalty. This disclosure comes amid increased scrutiny from Democratic lawmakers concerning the risks of insider trading in prediction markets, affecting platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket.
