Cosmos Hub and Cosmos Labs have confirmed that Injective USDC will serve as the primary stablecoin standard for the Cosmos ecosystem and dYdX. According to Foresight News, Injective has committed to providing long-term support for USDC over at least four years, ensuring necessary financial reserves for developers, institutions, and applications. The migration process is set to unfold gradually over the coming months, with dYdX leading the transition. Cosmos Labs is coordinating the migration efforts across other chains and applications within the ecosystem.
Skip Protocol's Skip:Go, which currently handles most cross-chain transfers within Cosmos, will adopt Injective USDC as its default USDC. Cosmos Labs plans to release migration tools for chains and applications transitioning from other USDC sources.
Earlier this year, Noble announced its departure from the Cosmos platform. Noble had been a long-standing native issuer of USDC for IBC, and its exit left Cosmos chains and applications without a long-term issuance source. Injective is stepping in to fill this gap, taking on an issuance volume exceeding $100 million.
