Stan Kroenke Agrees To Buy Controlling Stake In Los Angeles Angels

According to CNBC, Stan Kroenke has agreed to buy a controlling stake in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from the Moreno family, adding a Major League Baseball team to his sports empire. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, and terms were not disclosed. Kroenke, owner and chairman of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, said the Angels are a storied franchise in a strong market and that he looks forward to an exciting future with the organization. Arte Moreno said the Moreno family had stewarded the Angels for 23 years and believes Kroenke Sports and Entertainment is the best next owner for the franchise.
