China’s New-Energy Vehicle Makers Release August Delivery Data: Leapmotor Leads, Xiaomi Tops 30,000

China’s new-energy vehicle makers released August delivery data on September 1, with Leapmotor delivering 103,129 vehicles to remain first, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance delivering 42,101 vehicles to stay second, and XPeng and Li Auto ranking third and fourth with 39,107 and 37,679 vehicles, respectively, according to Jiemian News. NIO delivered 35,836 vehicles, while Xiaomi said deliveries exceeded 30,000. Among Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance partners, Seres Automobile sold 20,652 vehicles in August, roughly flat from July, while Chery’s Zhijie sold 8,561 vehicles, up 404.2% year on year. In the broader market, BYD sold 433,400 new-energy vehicles in August, Geely sold 175,900, and Chery sold 120,900. At the brand level, Changan’s Qiyuan sold 45,885 vehicles and BYD’s Fangchengbao sold 41,568, while Zeekr sold 36,981 and GAC’s Haobo Aion BU sold 36,383.
