According to BlockBeats, the U.S. Department of Justice announced on Friday that Roman Vitalyevich Ostapenko, Alexander Evgenievich Oleynik, and Anton Vyachlavovich Tarasov are accused of operating two cryptocurrency mixing services, Blender.io and Sinbad.io. They face charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and operating an unlicensed money transmission business.
If convicted, the defendants could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for money laundering and up to 5 years for operating an unlicensed money transmission business. Ostapenko and Oleynik were apprehended on December 1, 2024, while Tarasov remains at large.
