Luxembourg Identifies High Money Laundering Risks in Virtual Asset Services

According to PANews, Luxembourg's 2025 National Risk Assessment report has classified virtual asset service providers (VASPs) as high-risk entities for money laundering. This classification is attributed to factors such as large transaction volumes, extensive customer reach, complex structures, and cross-border operations. Despite the European Union's efforts to implement unified regulations through the MiCA framework and attract licensed platform operations, Luxembourg continues to caution about significant financial crime risks within the cryptocurrency sector.
