About LIT
$LIT began with a group of builders of other protocols and tokens asking the question: "Are we using this technology to its full potential if there are still whole sections of the marketplace that are not on-chain?" So far most of the world’s knowledge and experience with NFTs has involved static JPEG-type files and short GIF-type files. But how do artists, creators, and businesses that work in other media get to contribute to this movement? And what’s the disruption for these industries, in the way that NFTs have disrupted the highly gated, high-commissioned, and often exploitative gallery model? One of the goals of $LIT is to expand this ecosystem and the options on-chain for creators of all types. Starting with Project One. Using an innovative smart contract created by Transient Labs, this project is, to the best of our knowledge, is the first book minted to the Ethereum blockchain. The book can be read page by page, in its entirety, directly on OpenSea and other NFT marketplaces.
