로이터 통신에 따르면 미국 법원이 바이낸스 소송을 재개, 거래소의 미등록 토큰 판매로 인해 투자자가 손실 피해를 입었다고 비난했다. 법원은 "거래소 이용자가 토큰 구매 비용을 지불한 이후에는 미국에서 이를 취소할 수 없다. 때문에 해당 집단소송은 미국 증권법의 적용을 받는다"고 설명했다. 해당 소송은 2017년 이후 바이낸스를 통해 ELF, EOS, FUN, ICX, OMG, QSP, TRX 등 7종 토큰을 구매한 후 손실을 입은 투자자를 중심으로 진행됐다. 이들은 바이낸스가 토큰의 중대 리스크에 대해 경고하지 않았다며, 투자금을 회수할 것을 요구했다. 이에 바이낸스는 거래소가 해외 기반이므로 미국 증권법이 적용되지 않는다고 주장했다.
