FTX will begin repaying small creditors (claims under $50,000) in the Bahamas on February 18, 2025, with 9% annual interest on their claims. Creditors outside the Bahamas will receive their payouts starting by March 4, 2025.

Alameda Research has filed a lawsuit against Waves founder Aleksandr Ivanov, seeking to recover $90 million allegedly lost in fraudulent transactions involving the Waves token and Vires.Finance. The lawsuit claims Ivanov inflated the value of WAVES while siphoning funds from Vires, and later failed to cooperate in attempts to recover the assets.

Justin Bons, founder of Cyber Capital, has accused Tether of being a massive fraud, claiming it has not provided any legitimate proof of reserves or undergone a proper audit since 2021. Bons warns that Tether’s lack of transparency and its connections to controversial figures and activities pose a significant risk to the entire crypto market.
