Fluid is currently discussing a governance proposal submitted by Instadapp COO DMH on February 23. According to ChainCatcher, the proposal suggests transferring all intellectual property of the protocol, including smart contract code, front-end interface, domain names, and trademarks, to a non-profit foundation in the Cayman Islands. Additionally, it requests a monthly grant of $250,000 from the DAO to support engineering, security, and business operations.
The foundation would have no actual owner and would be operated by custodians and directors, with FLUID token holders retaining ultimate control through governance votes. In extreme cases, they could vote to dissolve the foundation. Fluid currently has a total value locked (TVL) exceeding $1.2 billion, with January's protocol revenue around $1.1 million. If approved, the monthly grant would account for approximately 16% of its highest historical monthly revenue. The legal work for the intellectual property transfer is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
