According to bankruptcy court documents reviewed by Insider, FTX spent $40 million on expenses including hotels, entertainment and flights over a nine-month period between January and September 2022, with more than $15 million of that spent on luxury hotels and lodging, $5.8 million for the resort Hotel Albany (luxury apartment complex where SBF and other FTX, Alameda employees live), about $3.6 million for the four-star Grand Hyatt, and $800,000 for the five-star For the Rosewood-rated resort, nearly $7 million was spent on dining and entertainment, about half of which was spent on food service, nearly $4 million on flights, and more than half a million dollars on postage and delivery. The company is also offering Bahamian employees "a full package of cars and gas for all employees, as well as unlimited, all-expenses-paid travel to any office worldwide."
