A synagogue in Michigan was attacked on Thursday by an armed individual driving a vehicle, according to reports. According to RTHK, the FBI considers the incident a deliberate act of violence targeting the Jewish community. The attacker drove through the gates of the synagogue in West Bloomfield, injuring a security guard and exchanging gunfire with other security personnel before being shot. The vehicle subsequently caught fire, and the suspect was found dead inside.
The FBI expressed deep concern over the incident, treating it as a targeted attack against the Jewish community. Local police confirmed that no staff members of the synagogue or the approximately 140 children at the affiliated daycare center were harmed.
