Polymarket, a prediction market platform, said it has banned and reported users who made death threats against an Israeli journalist in an attempt to force him to revise a news report about an Iranian missile attack. The incident involves a prediction market with over $17 million in betting. Emanuel Fabian, a military correspondent for The Times of Israel, wrote on Monday that he received messages demanding revisions to his report on the March 10th landing of an Iranian missile outside the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh. The prediction market allows users to bet on the date of an Iranian attack on Israel, and currently has over $17 million in bets on the March 10th option. Fabian said he received threatening messages from someone calling himself "Haim," who demanded he revise the report or face serious consequences, and provided specific details about his parents, family, and address. Fabian has reported the threats to the police, who are investigating. Polymarket issued a statement on its X platform condemning the harassment and threats against Emanuel Fabian, stating that it has banned the relevant accounts and handed the information over to the relevant authorities. The Israel Defense Forces later confirmed that the missile that exploded outside Beit Shemesh was not intercepted.
