A devastating fire at an auto parts manufacturing plant in Daejeon, central South Korea, has resulted in at least 11 fatalities and 59 injuries. According to RTHK, rescue teams discovered another body at noon today, while three individuals remain missing. The blaze erupted around 1 p.m. yesterday, with 170 workers present in the facility. Concerns over the building's structural integrity initially prevented firefighters from entering to conduct searches. The fire was eventually extinguished after approximately 10 and a half hours.
Rescue personnel are currently using heavy machinery to clear debris and continue the search for those still unaccounted for. Authorities have announced the formation of a special task force to handle the aftermath of the fire. A joint investigation with relevant departments will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident.
