The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved a rule change application for listing options on NYSE American (NYSE American), allowing the listing of options on multi-cryptocurrency commodity trusts. Previously, only options on single-cryptocurrency commodity trusts were permitted; now, the scope has been expanded to support options on commodity trusts holding multiple cryptocurrencies. Listing prerequisites include: each cryptocurrency held by the trust must individually meet high liquidity criteria, with an average daily market value of at least $700 million over the past 12 months; and the derivatives contracts for that cryptocurrency must have a comprehensive surveillance-sharing agreement with the trading platform. Furthermore, the trust shares must meet the trading platform's initial and ongoing listing standards for ETF options and must be NMS stock.
