A U.S. federal appeals court has issued a temporary ruling allowing the construction of a White House banquet hall to continue for at least another week. According to BlockBeats, the decision was made by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Saturday, following a 2-1 vote by the panel.
The ruling temporarily halts a previous order by Judge Richard Leon, appointed by George W. Bush, who had stopped the project in March. Judge Leon had ruled that the U.S. government lacked congressional authorization to proceed with the construction.
