Iran's Ministry of Defense: The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is conditional.

On April 18, a spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Defense stated that the opening of the Strait of Hormuz would only occur under the condition of a ceasefire, and that other conditions would also apply. Brigadier General Reza Tarai-nik said, "Warships and vessels affiliated with hostile forces have no right to pass through the Strait of Hormuz." The spokesperson also stated that the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz is "temporary," and the waterway could be closed again if the situation in Lebanon changes. (Al Jazeera)
