As the US-Israel war against Iran continues, the Trump administration is clearly divided on how to proceed. Andrea Dressi, Assistant Professor of International Relations and Global Politics at the University of Rome, stated: “We see the US objectives constantly shifting, the strategy constantly changing, and the goals constantly being adjusted. Although the Trump administration tries to ‘show strength’ through social media, in reality, we are seeing increasing divisions within the government, as well as the dismissal of several high-ranking officials at the Pentagon and Department of Defense. All of this reinforces the analysis that the US and Israel launched this war based on ‘a serious misjudgment of the potential consequences of this conflict or a lack of strategic thinking.’ Therefore, we are now in this stalemate, and in a sense, the Trump administration is seeking an exit strategy.” (Jin Shi)
