According to sources familiar with the matter, the White House is developing guidelines that would allow agencies to bypass Anthropic's supply chain risk assessment and introduce new models, including Mythos. A draft executive action currently being prepared may provide the government with a way to mitigate the conflict with Anthropic. One source described the White House's efforts as "saving face while getting them back." Earlier this month, White House Chief of Staff Wiles and Treasury Secretary Bessenter met with Anthropic CEO Dalio, both describing the meeting as a productive initial discussion on how the company and the government could work together. The White House is convening companies from various industries this week to provide input on potential executive action and best practices for deploying Mythos. These meetings include "trial readings" of potential guidance documents that could potentially reverse the Office of Management and Budget's previous directive prohibiting the government from using Anthropic.
