Raoul Pal, former Goldman Sachs executive and co-founder and CEO of Real Vision, addressed the Consensus 2026 conference in Miami, highlighting a significant turning point in human history. According to Foresight News, Pal emphasized the emergence of AGI entities that are smarter, more adaptable, and more powerful than humans, with AI capabilities currently doubling annually. By 2028, AI is expected to produce more text annually than the total output of human history, all within the next five years.
Pal proposed that as AI increasingly replaces human labor, the solution lies not in traditional Universal Basic Income (UBI) but in 'Universal Basic Equity.' This concept allows ordinary people to own underlying networks by holding crypto infrastructure tokens, benefiting from the expanding Agent economy. He noted that institutional involvement aligns with the spirit of crypto, enabling global access to assets like BTC, ETH, and SOL on par with major entities like BlackRock.
During a quick-fire question session, Pal expressed a preference for Solana over Bitcoin if forced to choose between the two. He also predicted that within five years, Agents and humans would form the primary user base of DeFi in a 3:2 ratio.
