Anthony Scaramucci Says Bessent and Lutnick Have Caught "Potomac Fever"

Anthony Scaramucci, a Goldman Sachs veteran and founder of SkyBridge Capital who briefly served as communications director during U.S. President Donald Trump's first term, warned that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick have both caught "Potomac fever." According to Sina Finance, Scaramucci said the condition describes politicians who arrive in Washington and become intoxicated by power and status. In a Tuesday interview, Scaramucci said he was once naive when he first arrived in Washington and admitted he had not controlled his own ego. He said one of the clearest signs of "Potomac fever" is being in it without realizing it, and added that Bessent and Lutnick had both caught it. Scaramucci served as White House communications director for only 11 days before being forced out. During his tenure, he had a profanity-filled conversation with a New Yorker reporter, who later published his remarks. The White House responded to questions about Scaramucci's experience and his comments on Bessent and Lutnick by saying, "Anthony Scaramucci's 10 days of fame ended nearly 10 years ago."
