cLabs, the Optics development team of Celo’s cross-chain communication interoperability mechanism, stated that the attack on Nomad has no impact on Optics users and will continue to monitor the development of the situation. According to Nomad’s official information, several of its founding team members work at Summa, a cross-chain interoperability research and development company. In August 2020, one of the key reasons why Celo ecological development organization cLabs acquired Summa was to build Optics, an efficient cross-chain communication interoperability mechanism. Foresight News previously compared the documentation of Nomad and Optics and found that the documentation introductions of the two are highly similar. In response, Julian Rachman, director of Nomad development, responded that Nomad is an extension of the Optics protocol, but no longer uses the Optics infrastructure. And it is completely independent of the optimistic security mechanism of Optics.
