South Korean game developer Nexon announced that it has chosen the Polygon Supernet expansion solution to expand the NFT ecosystem for its game MapleStory Universe. Users can currently buy and sell items with each other using the Web2 version of the MapleStory currency, and in the future, powered by Polygon Supernet, players will be able to earn and collect NFT items through games. Founded in South Korea in 1994, Nexon pioneered the concept of microtransactions and free-to-play business models. The company currently powers more than 60 online games in more than 100 countries and has registered more than 1.3 billion players since its inception.
