Andre Cronje: Never really left the Fantom Foundation, keeping a distance is for the sake of the project

Odaily Planet Daily News At the beginning of November last year, Andre Cronje came back after a period of "retirement" and returned to the Fantom project, pushing the price of the token up by 20%. Yet he claims he never actually left. Cronje said: "I left Fantom just from the public's point of view, there were too many negative reports about me at the time, and I thought it would have a negative impact on Fantom." He added that he has been working at the Fantom Foundation since 2019, which is almost his full-time job. "You can ask anyone in the company and they all know I'm still there and I'm still working day in and day out." On the face of it, Cronje left the Fantom Foundation in March 2022, and he has allegedly given up his contributions to the DeFi space and cryptocurrencies, causing the price of FTM to drop at that time. While no specific reason was given, Cronje has come under fire several times in the past for his tendency to "test in production" -- that is, to ship unaudited code while it's still being built.
