Odaily Planet Daily News Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase presented WNBA players with a total value of $120,000 in bitcoins as part of its continued sponsorship of the Women's Professional Basketball League.
Players from both the New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces were rewarded with $5,000 in bitcoin from the exchange and deposited into their personal Coinbase accounts for Tuesday's WNBA Commissioner's Cup tournament.
After Coinbase became the first cryptocurrency sponsor of the WNBA and NBA in September 2021, it will expand its partnership with the WNBA in 2022. As part of the expansion, the exchange is helping all players in the league set up crypto educational content and set up individual cryptocurrency accounts. (Decrypt)
