Odaily Planet Daily News Crypto hosting company Komainu said that the company has been approved by the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) to provide custody services to local customers and has become one of the first crypto companies to be fully approved by VASP.
Founded in 2018, Komainu is a joint venture between Japanese financial giant Nomura Securities, blockchain company Ledger and crypto investment agency CoinShares, serving institutional clients such as asset managers, banks, liquidity providers and exchanges.
The company has received preliminary approval to operate in Dubai in July 2022; last November, Komainu received an MVP license from Dubai regulators.
A spokesman noted that Komainu currently has five employees in Dubai and plans to double that number by the end of the year. (Blockworks)
