Meta is gifting VR Quest headsets as teaching tools to ten universities that will host virtual classes this year

According to Forbes, Meta has donated dozens of VR Quest headsets to ten universities as teaching tools. The donated universities will hold virtual courses this year, allowing some students to learn on virtual campuses. For example, the University of Maryland will use the devices in introductory biology and astronomy courses, and South Dakota State will use the devices in organic chemistry and anatomy courses. A Meta spokesperson said, “Education is a meaningful use case for Metaverse, and immersive learning in Metaverse will help creators around the world acquire Metaverse skills and create immersive experiences for learners.”
