Court documents reported by Odaily Planet Daily show that the US SEC accused Binance.US of failing to cooperate with the investigation and questioned Binance.US' use of Ceffu (formerly Binance Custody's custody service) custody service in violation of a previous agreement designed to prevent the flow of assets overseas. . The SEC said that during the evidence gathering process, BAM, the holding company of Binance.US, provided only “approximately 220 documents, many of which were incomprehensible screenshots and documents without dates or signatures.” In a Sept. 12 filing, Binance.US called the regulator’s concerns about Ceffu “much ado” and its request for more documents a “futile phishing attempt.” Binance.US stated that simply creating a wallet through Ceffu does not mean it can host or access customer funds.
