According to monitoring by the Beosin EagleEye security risk monitoring, early warning and blocking platform, a subsidiary of the blockchain security audit company Beosin, in October 2023, the amount of losses from various security incidents dropped significantly compared with September. There were more than 23 typical security incidents in October, and the total losses caused by hacker attacks, phishing scams and rug pulls reached US$51.61 million, a decrease of approximately 85.6% from September. Among them, the attack incident is about 28.33 million US dollars, the Rug Pull incident is about 12.02 million US dollars, and the phishing scam incident is about 11.26 million US dollars.
Major security incidents that occurred this month include: approximately US$7 million was stolen from the Fantom Foundation wallet; approximately US$6 million was stolen from the Philippine crypto exchange Coins.ph; approximately US$4.4 million was stolen from the password management tool LastPass. All three cases were private key leaks.
Several Rug Pull events exceeding one million US dollars have also occurred this month. Users please pay attention to safety precautions.
