In response to Starknet's nearly 40-minute downtime today, Federico Carrone, founder of LambdaClass, posted an article on the X platform criticizing Starknet's current operating model.
Federico said that we also reported an outage a few days ago, but the feedback we received was that the system was not down. In fact, similar situations have been recurring in the past few months. LambdaClass has been calling on Starknet to change its current operating model, analyze the root causes of the problem, and then share the intelligence with the entire community.
Starknet has now launched its mainnet, has $138 million in TVL, and is about to issue tokens. A large number of projects are being built on Starknet today, and what they need is an underlying network that does not suffer from similar situations. Downtime leads to the emergence of arbitrage opportunities, which can lead to inappropriate exploitation or even evolve into larger problems. Solana has encountered similar problems before, but each time they shared the incident report publicly, and you can view the details of the outage at any time on Solana's status page.
Federico added: “Rejecting technical criticism is not conducive to solving the problem. For Starknet, a potential improvement method is to open source all the code of the network, and the monitoring page should also be open to the public. Currently, many codes on the Starknet network are still open to the public. It is private. When a certain component fails, no one knows what will happen. If it can be more open, it will get more help."
