Mathew McDermott, global head of digital assets at Goldman Sachs, said that the trading volume of blockchain-based assets is expected to increase significantly in the next one to two years. McDermott noted that client interest in cryptocurrency derivatives trading is also growing amid expectations that U.S. securities regulators will soon approve applications for Bitcoin spot ETFs. Furthermore, he emphasized that in addition to cryptocurrencies, there is also a huge demand for the issuance of blockchain-based tokens representing traditional assets such as bonds. (REUTERS)
