According to official news, in November 2023, Sujitech, a subsidiary of Mask Network, donated US$100,000 to the non-profit decentralized social platform Mastodon. This is the largest donation Mastodon has received to date.
In addition to this, the Mask Network team will also work with Mastodon to upgrade the system. Potential changes include further support for DID in Mastodon, moving all data on Mastodon to a distributed network and enabling decentralized storage, and the introduction of end-to-end encrypted direct messages to provide more secure and private communications.
It is reported that Mastodon is an open source decentralized distributed microblogging social network that allows anyone to establish an instance based on the network. Mask Network has previously acquired Pawoo.net, Mastodon’s second largest instance, and social curation protocol RARA.
