Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law incorporating the digital ruble into the country’s tax code. The new law reportedly adds terms such as “digital ruble” and “digital ruble wallet.”
The law also allows bailiffs and other court-appointed individuals to “recover” CBDC funds from wallets “if there is insufficient fiat currency in the taxpayer’s bank account.” Additionally, the law allows tax authorities to suspend transactions on digital ruble wallets.
Tax officials can also require platform operators to “provide documentation proving that funds have been cleared from taxpayers’ accounts,” and tax officials are also allowed to transfer confiscated tokens to the Russian Ministry of Finance. (Cryptonews)
