Nocturne, a privacy protocol in which Vitalik Buterin participated, posted on the X platform that it will close Nocturne V1 and shift to application development.
The official said that last year it realized that the transition to public L2 and AA must come before privacy, and users were first worried about cost and user experience. Deposits, trading and staking on Nocturne are currently suspended, and users can withdraw within one year.
Nocturne added that it hopes to launch new products that are more attractive than the last one when it returns. As more and more apps and utilities emerge, we believe the need for privacy will re-emerge, but until then, the team will focus on the most pressing technical and user issues today and will continue to work on them in the coming months. In October last year, Nocturne Labs announced the completion of a US$6 million seed round of financing. Bain Capital Crypto and Polychain Capital co-led the investment, with participation from Vitalik Buterin, Bankless Ventures, Hack VC, Robot Ventures, etc.
