Blockchain development company Ava Labs has unveiled details of its scaling solution, Vryx, as part of plans to enable the Avalanche blockchain to support speeds of approximately 100,000 transactions per second.
Ava Labs is already implementing this scaling approach, which is detailed in a research post published today. The company plans to provide performance benchmarks in the coming weeks.
This scaling method will be enabled in the first HyperSDK testnet, which is scheduled to launch in the middle of the second quarter. HyperSDK is a framework for building high-performance blockchains with virtual machines, enabling them to deliver smart contracts. Vryx will be used to support such blockchains built using HyperSDK – called Hyperchains – with the idea being that the technology will trickle down to major blockchain platforms over time.
An Ava Labs spokesperson said: “Since the advent of HyperSDK a year and a half ago, Ava Labs has been committed to providing the best possible scalability for anyone building their own blockchain on Avalanche. Today, we are releasing Vryx , a big step towards that goal.” (The Block)
