Data from Dune Analytics shows that Ethereum blobs are being used to create inscriptions, much like Ordinals on Bitcoin, at record rates. According to data from a Dune Analytics user named Hildobby, March 27 witnessed 2,437 blob inscriptions, accounting for 22.8% of the blobs released that day. This is the highest usage record for blobs released among other Ethereum L2s such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and Linea. Additionally, the increase in blob inscriptions coincides with a spike in fees on Base, which reached $300 at one point and then dropped to around $30. Ethereum is also experiencing a drop in slot utilization due to large block sizes caused by blobs. (The Block)
