Austin Federa, the strategic director of the Solana Foundation, published an article on the X platform outlining the recent congestion problems on the Solana chain. He said that these problems stem from the implementation of the QUIC protocol and can be attributed to a known bottleneck problem. The solution is already in the roadmap. The main reason may be that the demand for Solana was not expected to increase at such a fast rate. In a few days, the problem went from "sufficient but needs improvement" to "insufficient". Austin Federa concluded that this problem is simply technical debt, and the network stack will be almost completely rewritten later this year, while also balancing important maintenance/improvement work.
