Binance said in a statement that the User Security Asset Fund (SAFU) is an emergency insurance fund established in 2018 to protect Binance users in extreme situations, which is one of the important differences between Binance and other exchanges. Over the years, Binance has been monitoring the size of SAFU and keeping the funds balanced to protect users. Although it fluctuates, it usually remains at a level of US$1 billion.
SAFU remains a core part of Binance's ecological responsibility, and Binance is constantly evolving to respond to market conditions. Now, Binance converts 100% of SAFU's assets to USDC. Using a trusted, audited and transparent stablecoin to manage SAFU further enhances its reliability and ensures that it remains at a stable level of US$1 billion.
