Bitcoin has long been seen as a highly volatile asset, but its volatility is declining and will continue to decline as the cryptocurrency matures, Fidelity Digital Assets said in a report. New assets typically take time to go through price discovery, mature, and then settle into lower volatility, analyst Zack Wainwright wrote. Even gold exhibited high volatility when the U.S. abandoned the gold standard in the 1970s. The report said Bitcoin has shown signs of maturity in its 15 years of existence, with volatility reaching new yearly lows. (Coindesk)
