CFTC Commissioner: Lack of clarity is the main cause of tension between SEC and CFTC

U.S. CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersinger said in an interview that there is definitely a question about who has the appropriate power in crypto regulation, the SEC or the CFTC. Mersinger said she will speak at the Consensus Conference with U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce. She said the two have some similar views, but it is a struggle because sometimes there are indeed disputes about jurisdiction, whether it is an enforcement case or other actions that fall under the CFTC's fraud and manipulation enforcement authority.
