Recently, Yangzhou City issued the "Metaverse Industry Cultivation and Development Action Plan (2024-2026)", striving to achieve a scale of 10 billion yuan in metaverse-related industries by 2026 through the implementation of four major actions, and drive the city's software and information service industry business revenue to exceed 20 billion yuan. The first is to carry out innovation capacity improvement actions. Promote metaverse-related enterprises to actively infiltrate the VR (virtual reality) wearable device industry chain; build, develop and operate artificial intelligence service platforms, provide general services such as digital identity registration, data asset management, digital twin construction, and basic mechanism models; promote the transplantation of existing cultural heritage, scenic spots, and historical celebrities into virtual space, and create a batch of original digital IPs and digital human images with Yangzhou characteristics. The second is to carry out industry subject introduction and training actions. Establish and improve the Metaverse industry chain investment map, introduce and cultivate a group of leading enterprises, attract a group of industry headquarters or R&D centers; incubate a group of Metaverse technology "little giants", "specialized and new" enterprises and high-tech enterprises that focus on subdivided tracks; encourage film and television production, game development, and software R&D companies to adopt a crowdsourcing development model to actively undertake the Metaverse software and hardware product R&D and manufacturing business, and accelerate the seizure of the new Metaverse track. Third, carry out application scenario integration actions. Create 3 typical Metaverse application scenarios and demonstration projects; build a number of "industrial Metaverse + vertical industry" industrial Metaverse open platforms to guide small and medium-sized enterprises to innovate and start businesses based on the platform; use artificial intelligence and digital human technology to explore the development of virtual brand endorsements and virtual live broadcast economy; combine "non-face-to-face approval" with Metaverse technology to accelerate the application of digital human customer service and real-scene navigation in the field of government services. Fourth, carry out industrial ecological foundation building actions. Advance layout of future network systems, accelerate the research and deployment of new networks such as 5G-A/6G, Gigabit optical network/10G optical network, FTTR (fiber access), satellite Internet, etc.; publish a list of urgently needed and scarce talents for the Metaverse, and encourage the establishment of new Metaverse-related majors in universities in Yangzhou.
