Zimbabwe is seeking input from crypto industry players to develop policies, according to local media reports. The government has set up a committee to consult operators in the digital asset space and hopes to give its opinion by June 26.
The government said in a statement on Wednesday: "In line with global trends and best practices, Zimbabwe is conducting an effort to assess and understand the prospects of cryptocurrencies, and invites all cryptocurrency service providers (whether operating domestically or abroad) that serve the people of Zimbabwe to provide comments.
The country is also reportedly trying to use a gold digital token called ZiG to solve its economic problems. (CoinDesk)
